What's New on VegasPowerplay: 12 Tools for the 2026-27 Season

August 5, 2026By VegasPowerplay editorial8 min read

We spent the 2026 off-season building a better way to follow the Knights. Instead of just giving you the news, we wanted to build a toolbox that lets you track player form, play armchair GM, and keep an eye on the future of the franchise. This guide walks you through the 12 new features we've added across the site, from live cap tracking to trade voting and prospect coverage.

What's on the Homepage Now?

We completely rebuilt the Vegas Powerplay homepage to act as your daily dashboard. The three-column layout puts the latest articles side-by-side with live division standings, tonight's game info, and a real-time feed of roster moves. We’ve designed it to give you the entire state of the team at a single glance.

  • Spotlight trends chart: A quick look at how the top point-getters have performed over their last 10 games.
  • Latest VGK Feed: The 20 most recent transactions, injuries, and milestones.
  • Trade Votes & Polls: Jump straight into the community debate right from the front page.
  • Recent Results & Standings: Current Pacific Division rankings and the latest box scores.

How Do Player Performance Trends and the Heat Index Work?

Stop guessing who is driving the offense. Our new player performance trends page graphs the top 10 skaters and active goalies over their last 10 games, placing their production on the same timeline so you can compare form side-by-side.

  • The Heat Index: A custom score factoring in goals, assists, ice time, and fan votes to instantly show who is peaking.
  • 10-game window: See exactly how a player's form has shifted over the team's most recent stretch.
  • Goalie tracking: Active netminders are charted right alongside the skaters.

What Are the Scoring Streak Leaders?

If a player gets hot, you'll know about it here. The scoring streak leaders card tracks anyone on a major run, splitting the leaders into active season streaks, most recent runs, and an all-time leaderboard dating back to January 2026.

How Does the Player Event Timeline Work?

Think of this as the team's diary. The player event timeline is a running monthly log of every signing, trade, injury, and major on-ice milestone for the whole roster. By putting these events next to the game schedule, you get the full context of how the month actually played out.

  • Color-coded events: Instantly spot the difference between a trade, an injury, or a hat trick.
  • Contextual game results: See how the team performed during a specific wave of injuries or scoring runs.
  • Season archives: Easily look back at older seasons to see when previous major moves happened.

Who Are the VGK Prospects?

Keep an eye on the future. The Golden Knights prospect pool tracks every player under 26 who hasn't hit the NHL yet, sorting them by their current club in the AHL, college, or Europe. Players like Trevor Connelly and Juho Piiparinen get full profiles so you can track their path to the big club.

  • Development tracking: See exactly where a prospect is playing, from Henderson to Finland's Liiga.
  • Draft details: Badges for draft year, round, and overall pick.
  • Full bios: Top prospects have complete profile pages with contract histories and notable moments.

How Much Cap Space Does the Team Have?

With the NHL upper limit hitting $104M for 2026-27, tracking the math is critical. The salary cap breakdown breaks down the active contracts, factors in LTIR relief, and projects exactly how much buying power the front office will have when the trade deadline hits.

  • Live cap space: Constantly updated to reflect the active roster.
  • Deadline-day math: Projects available space for March 1, 2027, using NHL proration rules.
  • LTIR relief explained: Breaks down exactly how much cap relief the team gets from injured players.

How Does Community Trade Voting Work?

Think you can build a better roster? Our community trade votes let the community play GM. You can vote three current players out and target three players to bring in from a curated list of speculative targets.

  • In and Out voting: Pick up to 3 acquisitions and 3 departures.
  • Scouted targets: See the position, current club, and trade probability (High/Medium/Low) for potential acquisitions.
  • Live cap context: Keep an eye on the current cap space figure right next to the voting widget.

What Fan Polls Are Available?

We’ve launched a dedicated hub for active fan polls to settle lineup debates, rank players, and react to roster moves. It’s an organic way to see where the community stands on the hottest topics surrounding the team.

  • Daily debates: New questions dropped regularly covering trades, lineups, and more.
  • Poll archives: Look back at old polls to see how fan opinion changed over the course of the season.
  • Direct sharing: Every poll has its own link so you can easily send it to other fans.

What Does the Injury Report Show?

No more guessing when a guy is coming back. Our injury report lists everyone unavailable, tracking their exact dates out. Most importantly, we only mark a player as "returned" once they actually hit the ice in a real game.

  • Clear statuses: Separates players into Day-to-Day, Out, and LTIR.
  • Full injury history: Look back at a player's previous absences and how long they lasted.
  • Inactive roster view: See off-roster players for complete team context.

What Ticket Information Is Available?

If you are heading to T-Mobile Arena, the Golden Knights ticket guide has you covered. Instead of just listing static prices, we track demand levels for upcoming games and break down the best seating tiers and theme nights.

  • Game-day logistics: Everything you need to know about parking, bags, and getting into the arena.
  • Demand tracking: See which games are highly sought after due to rivalries or weekend slots.
  • Next home game spotlight: A quick look at the matchup and roster context before you buy.

How Does the Henderson Silver Knights Hub Integrate?

What happens in Henderson matters in Vegas. We built a dedicated Henderson Silver Knights coverage hub featuring their schedule, roster, and stats. It ties directly into our prospect pipeline, so you can see how the next generation is developing down the road.

  • AHL Standings & Schedule: Track how Henderson stacks up in the Pacific Division.
  • Stats leaders: See who is driving the offense for the Silver Knights.
  • Pipeline connections: The HSK roster links directly back to our main prospect hub.

What's on Every Player Profile Page?

Every skater and goalie on the full 2026-27 roster now has a massive, detailed profile page. Beyond the standard season stats, we wanted to give you a complete picture of a player's tenure with the Knights.

  • 10-game trend charts: A visual breakdown of their most recent performances.
  • Notable Moments: A timeline tracking every hat trick, point streak, and milestone since January 2026.
  • Transaction history: Full contract details, signings, and trades in one place.
