Matyas Sapovaliv

Matyas Sapovaliv, born in 2004, is a center who was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the second round (48th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Standing 6'4" and weighing 204 pounds, Sapovaliv shoots left and represents the organization's preference for big-bodied, two-way centers. During the 2025-26 AHL regular season with the Henderson Silver Knights, he appeared in all 72 games, recording 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points with 8 penalty minutes. In the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs, he added three assists and a +5 rating in four games.

Sapovaliv's game is characterized by his ability to act as an immovable object near the net and his high hockey IQ as a facilitator under pressure. A Memorial Cup champion with the Saginaw Spirit, he has transitioned his intelligent, short-area playmaking to the professional level. He is currently signed to an entry-level contract that runs through the 2026-27 season.
