William Karlsson is a Swedish center born in 1993. The Anaheim Ducks selected him in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, and he reached the NHL after developing in Swedish hockey. He made his NHL debut with Anaheim during the 2014-15 season and later played for the Columbus Blue Jackets before establishing himself as a regular center in Vegas.
Karlsson's defining regular season came in 2017-18, when he scored 43 goals and 78 points. He won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy that season and was named to the NHL Second All-Star Team. Karlsson later won the Stanley Cup with Vegas in 2023 alongside Shea Theodore, adding a championship to the individual honors from his breakout campaign.
